Company XXXX Privacy Policy

Information Collection and Use
Company XXXX is the sole owner of the information collected on this site.  We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways that differ from what is disclosed in this statement.

Usability Tester Registration
We sometimes recruit testers for our usability services via our web site.  A visitor must first complete the registration form, which requests personal information, work experience and PC experience.  This information is used to contact the visitor about participating in future usability tests.

Aggregate Information
Aggregate information allows people and their businesses to be smarter about customer experiences on their web site.  Without giving out personally identifiable information, we occasionally make aggregate information gathered through our usability testing or surveys available to our customers.  This could be in the form of customer preferences analysis, trends, usage patterns, etc.

WDBIQ Sharing
We will share aggregated demographic information with our partners, customers, and visitors to our web site.  This is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person.  In the event that Company XXXX works with a partner organization, any sharing of information with the partner will be done only with a users consent.

This web site contains links to other sites.  Please be aware that we [Company XXXX] are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites.  We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site, and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information.  This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this web site.

Log Files
We use IP addresses to analyse trends, track user's movement, and to gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.  IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Company XXXX takes every precaution to protect our users' information.  When users submit information via the web site or through our survey technologies, this information is protected both online and off-line.

Children's Guidelines
Children under 13 are not eligible to register as testers, use our applications or services and we ask that minors (under the age of 13) do not submit any personal information to us.  We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.  If you are a minor, you can only view our public web site.  If we learn that we have personal information on a child under the age of 13, we will delete that information from our systems.

From time-to-time our site or one of our customer's sites requests information from users via our web intelligence technology called WDBIQ.  Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether to disclose information.  Information requested may include data about a visit to our customer's site, optional contact information (such as name, email and mailing address), and demographic information (such as postcode, age level).  WDBIQ also collects click stream data as long as the user is participating.  The data collected pertains only to the current browsing session and all data collection stops when the user leaves the site's domain(s) and or quits the browser.  Because WDBIQ is a downloaded application, some small files (~300k) will remain after the browsing session.  Going to the Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and selecting WDBIQ can easily uninstall any of these files.

Personal Information
In the course of answering or responding to our WDBIQ surveys, you may have the opportunity to voluntarily submit personal information (e.g., providing profile information or providing an e-mail address).  Company XXXX may maintain this information in a database, and may use this information to invite you to participate in future surveys.  If that contact is made via email, Company XXXX will first validate the email address provided.  Your decision to participate in future surveys is completely at your discretion.  That is, you have no obligation to complete this or any future survey.  By participating in a survey or in visiting our Web site, you understand and consent to this policy.  If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it.

Confidentiality of Personal Information
We will not sell, trade, or rent your personally identifiable information to others outside of Company XXXX.  Any information that you provide will not be attributable to you, as collected information is generally viewed at the aggregate level.

Legal Disclaimer
We may disclose personal information when required by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary in order to conform to the edicts of the law, or to comply with a legal process served on our web site.

Our site may use cookies to help track usage patterns on our site.  A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing information about the user.  Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site.  For instance, by setting a cookie on our site, the user would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site.  If a user rejects the cookie, they may still use our site.  The only drawback to this, is that the user will be limited in some areas of our site.  Cookies can also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site.  Some of our business partners use cookies on their sites.  However, we have no access to, or control over these cookies.

During our WDBIQ surveys, our users are given the opportunity to 'opt-out' of having their information used for purposes not directly related to our site at the point where we ask for the information.  For example, each WDBIQ invitation and most question boxes have an 'opt-out' mechanism so users who don't want to participate in either the survey or a specific question can opt out and move on.  From time to time, our client will ask us to require specific information to be gathered in order for the user to participate in the study.  In these select cases, the user will be allowed to opt-out of the survey if they do not wish to answer the required questions.  In most cases, the user is not required to answer any questions and can simply skip a particular answer with which they are not comfortable.

Notification of Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our Homepage so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under circumstances, if any, we disclose it.  If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email.  Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner.  We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
